I’m Abbie and I’m a TEFL and CELTA qualified English language teacher who helps people to ignite a love of learning and hone their English skills so that they can enjoy the life they want – with travel, study, work, arts and culture, self-development, and friendship.

Learning with me
I provide one-to-one and group classes via video call for adults worldwide, with language skills of B1, B1+, B2 and C1. And I love to work with introverts, because as one myself, I know how important it is to learn in a safe, supported space where meaningful connections thrive, and confidence grows. I work hard to ensure this in my individual and group sessions, so everyone feels encouraged and valued, we get to know each other well, and friendships flourish.

Let’s chat, and chat about films! We choose a movie and then meet fortnightly to talk about it – no feedback, no homework, just fun and friendship as you improve your speaking and listening skills. Oh, and you get to enjoy great films whilst honing your fluency and pronunciation.

About Me
Hello! My name is Abbie and I live in Sunderland, in the North East of England. Of course, I have all the relevant qualifications to teach English to speakers of other languages. As I’m sure you’ll know, that’s not that unusual – there’s many English language tutors out there. What sets me apart is that I also have over 10,000 hours of teaching experience - in China and the UK, with adults and children, online and in classrooms, individually and with groups. And I know what really works, especially for my “people” – introverts who tend to lack confidence and prefer authentic, supportive environments.
I use my knowledge to motivate through inspiration, connection, and enjoyment, igniting a passion for learning the English language without stress or fear. And being there every step of the way for each one of my students as their confidence grows and they thrive.
